Stainless Steel 317 / 317L Instrumentation Tubes are heat resistance chromium, nickel SS with an increased number of alloying elements. This composition provides superior resistance to oxidation and good strength at moderate elevated temperatures. When it is solution annealed, it offers better corrosion resistance in sea water applications. It has high destructive scaling temperature properties above 100 degrees C. Therefore; it exhibits good scaling resistance in both constant and fluctuating temperatures.

General properties:
It is highly alloyed SS grade developed for service at hoists temperatures. Its high chromium and nickel content enables this alloy to resist oxidation in constant service up to 1200 degree C. The increased level of resisting elements further improves oxidation resistance in high temperatures. also, it is resistive to carburizing temperatures compare to standard grades. It offers resistance to heat while retaining its perfect structures.

Alloy 317L is low carbon version enables it to machinable with standard machines. It is susceptible to intergranular attacked even in adverse environments.

Testing of product

The product is well tested by following tests- hardness test, PMI test, chemical test, mechanical test, thermal conductivity test, tensile test, compression test and pitting corrosion test.

Some other tests are the destructive test, leakage test, bends test, micro test, flaring test, hydrostatic test, radiography, and ultrasonic test.
Before the packaging third- parties inspect the quality of production.
