Technical details:

It is austenitic SS grade and stabilized with titanium with good corrosion resistance. It has excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion (IGC). It can be exposed to temperatures in the chromium carbide precipitation in the temperature range 800-1500 degree F. it also resists oxidation up to 816 degrees C and has creep and stress rupture properties than conventional grades. It also possesses good low temperatures and toughness.

Alloy 321H is also known as UNS S32109 grade. It is the higher carbon version of standard grade. It is designed for higher creep resistance and fracture toughness in elevated temperatures. It is dual certified grades with higher carbon chemistry.

Attributes:

Alloy 321 (UNS S32100) exhibits good local and general corrosion resistance ability. Stainless Steel 321 / 321H Seamless Tubes utilized for chromium carbide precipitation in temperatures ranging 1800 – 1500 degree F. whereas un-stabilized alloys are subjected to intergranular attack.

It is ideal for dilute and concentric organic acids. Moreover, it is used at moderate temperatures in pure as phosphoric acid at down temperatures.

Manufacturing:

These are welded and manufactured by most standard shop fabrication process. It has good work hardening rate. Hence, it is easily machined machines relevant to traditional SS grades. These are hot formed in the temperatures between 2100-2300 degree F. The raw material is processed by water quenching or annealed after the hot working process to attain maximum corrosion resistance. Alloy 321/321H is readily formable due to its ductile nature.

Testing:
