General corrosion resistance:

Alloy 321/ 321H offer similar resistance to general and local corrosion same as conventional grades. This alloy also resists moderate and aggressive organic acids. It has good resistance to atmospheric corrosion. It has higher chromium content that provides resistance to oxidizing solutions such as nitric acids. These tubes perform well in fresh water with low and high levels of chlorides.

In higher chloride levels it is susceptible to crevice and pitting corrosion cracking. It is prone to stress corrosion cracking even in high temperatures. It has sufficient resistance to intergranular attacks (IGA).

These tubes are formed with both hot and cold forming process. These are annealed or hot worked to acquire higher mechanical attributes. These are weldable too.
