Information about alloy 321/321H-
Alloy 321 is the austenitic stainless steel alloy that is stabilized with titanium with excellent corrosion resistance. It is having very good resistance ability against intergranular corrosion after getting exposed to the chromium carbide precipitation temperature that is ranging of 800 Deg F to 1500 Deg F. This alloy is efficiently resisting oxidization at 816 Deg C and is also having greater creep and stress rupture properties than other alloys. It is also possessing excellent low-temperature toughness.
Alloy 321H is actually the 321 alloy high carbon version. The reason why it is developed is to enhance the creep resistance and also for the greater strength at a temperature more than 537 Deg C.
But 321 can’t be hardened through the process of heat treatment; it is possible with the help of cold working. It is then processed by the standard workshop fabrication practices.
Testing-
